Cookware Comparison Chart
Comparison charts have never been a part of Crate and Barrel’s design system, and as different merchandise categories grow, it was a huge opportunity for improvement. Before starting on design, I partnered with the UX research team to get a better understanding of how customers use, and expect to use a tool like a comparison chart.
I used the information gained from the research team, to create a layout that most customers would have some familiarity with. I then made visual changes that would reflect Crate and Barrel’s brand perspective. In user testing, we heard that customers always look at the product image to get an understanding of the product. I took advantage of this information, and designed our chart with larger product images at the top. I also advocated for rows that would have simple checks and dashes to promote scannability.
